Michelin XRV

FEATURES AND BENEFITS

• Summer weather traction
• Enhanced controllability
• Improved load durability

OVERVIEW

The Michelin XRV is a highway terrain, summer tire manufactured for commercial vehicles. It was made to be mounted on the vehicle's all axle positions.

The tire provides great summer weather performance. The detailed symmetric ribbed tread design, with the micro sipe pattern and the see-through groove placement, and the cool-running tire compound increase the tire's grip in dry and wet weather road conditions. The compound actively prevents heat build-up along the tread area, which eases the driving pressure off the tire and prevents premature tread wear. However, the tire is not suited for winter weather driving. The tread's micro rib edge sipes increase the number of biting edges gripping the road surface, while the ribbed pattern closely follows the road surface at all times. The wide circumferential grooves prevent hydroplaning by dispersing water and slush from below the footprint. This combination guarantees a secure summer weather driving experience.

The model's optimal shape improves its overall controllability. The symmetric tread's flat footprint and the shallow tread depth upgrade the tire's contact with the road surface, which significantly boosts the steering responsiveness and the driving stability. The constant road contact and the stabilized tread elements advance the tire's steering response time and accuracy to the driver's commands, while they also secure the structure against the pressure affecting it. In this manner, the driver has more control over the vehicle as the vehicle's tires are quicker in their driving reaction.

The XRV was manufactured with a special reinforced internal structure. The tire's maintained road contact, with the flat symmetric footprint, and its strengthened steel belt construction increase the load and driving durability. They keep the optimal shape under the load pressure affecting the model, which significantly boosts the load carrying and withstanding capacity of the tire. The ideal tire shape's improved road contact also helps lengthen the tread life. It ensures even tread wear, which extends the tread life and the tire's usability. The longer lasting tread life and the boosted load durability ensure a safer drive and performance in summer weather.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
