OVERVIEW
The Kenda K478 is an all season tire made for lawn mowers and garden tractors, mainly for snow blowers and tiller applications.
The aggressive tread design and the ideal tire shape improve off-road traction. This tread enhances grip on soft, loose, and uneven terrains, upgrading the tire's forward motion on versatile surfaces. Large tread elements and the optimal tire shape ensure the tire's excellent performance. This model can safely perform on snow- and ice-covered surfaces, boosting the surface grip as a result.
The durable compound and strengthened internal structure keep the ideal tire shape under load and driving pressure. This construction does not allow the tire to deform under pressure, which enables it to withstand heavy loads. At the same time, the strong rubber compound resists external damage, such as punctures and cuts, along the tread area. This promotes a safe driving experience.
The Kenda K478 also offers excellent all weather traction. The ideal tread pattern maintains surface contact in all weather conditions. On the other hand, the all season compound keeps the rubber flexible in freezing winter conditions, while also preventing heat build-up in warm summer temperatures. These elements work together to improve year-round performance.
This is a bias ply tire. Due to the tire's internal construction and size, it is possible that the tire will look deformed. Smaller bias ply tires do not have reinforced constructions that can keep the tire from deforming. The bias construction and the small tire's non-reinforced internal structure allow the tire to fold in when it is deflated or not properly inflated. This is not constructional damage or an issue; it is a normal occurrence with such tires. In such cases, the tire needs to be mounted and inflated to the proper PSI or, in some instances, an inner tube needs to be added. The proper PSI and the inner tube are able to maintain the tire's ideal shape, preventing the bias plies from looking deformed. This ensures their performing safety and durability.

In order to ensure the correct size is purchased, the overall tire diameter that is needed should be checked.
The Overall Diameter or O.D. advertised represents the tire's overall diameter in inches, once the tire has been properly inflated and mounted per the manufacturer's recommendation. This advertised number is provided to Priority Tire by the tire manufacturer.
Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
