The General Grabber APT is an all terrain, all weather tire manufactured for SUVs and light trucks. General offers a 60,000 mile treadwear warranty with this model.
The tire ensures excellent all weather traction. The tread design and the Duragen compound work together to promote a safer dry, wet, and winter-weather road grip. The tread design finds a firm grip throughout the year, while the Duragen compound maintains its flexibility even in colder temperatures. As a result, the tire has received its three mountain peak and snowflake symbol, which indicates its capability to perform well in winter-weather conditions. The tread's wide grooves prevent hydroplaning by dispersing water and slush from below the tire's footprint.
The model's durable compound and optimal tread design enable it to perform well both on- and off-road. The tread design manages to find grip and traction on soft, loose, and uneven terrains. The tread elements ensure excellent performance off-road. The staggered tread elements and the wide grooves work together to boost off-road driving safety, maintaining a clean footprint. They eliminate snow and mud and eject rocks stuck between the tread elements, effectively preventing stone retention as well. The compound is resistant to chipping and cuts that may harm the tire's casing, ensuring a safer off-road drive.
