OVERVIEW

The Firestone Indy is a high performance, all season tire made for racing cars.

The tire’s high speed capability is optimized for maximum safety. The tire utilizes its heat-resistance and durable structure in order to improve its high speed durability. The special compound blend and the stable tread area prevent pressure accumulation, in order to resist heat build-up. Additionally, the construction keeps the optimal shape under high speed pressure. These enhancements enable the tire’s safer high speed applications.

The tread design maintains the surface contact at all times. This model utilizes the high speed compound and the symmetric tread design to optimize road contact. As a result, it is able to increase steering responsiveness and driving stability. These tread elements also improve the tire's cornering and braking abilities. Furthermore, the heat-resistant compound and the stronger structure increase its performance. These improvements ensure the tire’s exceptional high speed performance.

The Firestone Indy promotes great all weather traction. The all season tire compound and the ideal tread pattern increase dry, wet, and winter-weather road grip. The wide circumferential grooves avoid hydroplaning by eliminating water from beneath the footprint. The enhanced water dispersing ability and the exceptional all season traction work together to guarantee a safe year-round performance.

This specific tire model features a BIASED ply construction.

There might be discrepancies of sizes between brands and models of tires which have this size formatting. As the manufacturers only provide the tire width and the rim diameter with these tires, various brands and models will have size differences. In order to ensure the correct size is purchased, the overall tire diameter that is needed should be checked.

This is a Tubed Type Tire (TT), which requires an inner tube to properly function. This purchase does not include the inner tube or flaps.

The Overall Diameter or O.D. advertised represents the tire's overall diameter in inches, once the tire has been properly inflated and mounted per the manufacturer's recommendation. This advertised number is provided to Priority Tire by the tire manufacturer.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
