OVERVIEW
The Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT is a high performance, summer tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs.
The tire has increased dry and wet traction due to the Multi-Radius Tread technology, which enhances dry handling and wet traction. The asymmetric tread pattern also improves the wet and dry road grip of the tire, as each side of the tread pattern is specially designed to respond to the specific weather conditions. It is not recommended to be used in winter weather or in low temperatures. The four circumferential grooves in the tread pattern help eliminate water from beneath the tread and help resist dangerous hydroplaning.
This model's performance was greatly improved as well. The flatter tread profile increases the road-to-tire contact area and this boosts its cornering power and ability as well as the directional stability. The reinforced sidewall also provides extra feel for the road by reducing the lateral flex during cornering. The road feedback is also due to the unique bead fit system. This increased steering responsiveness makes the tire's handling effortless and the driving experience safer.
The Hybrid Jointless Band technology increases the tire's performance, since the reinforced structure maintains the tire's shape at high speeds. This same technology prevents flatspotting as well in situations where the vehicle is parked for a longer period of time.
The SP Sport Maxx GT also offers an increased, even tread life. The tire's non-directional tread pattern design allows the tires to be rotated even on staggered vehicles.
Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
