OVERVIEW

The Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02 is a high performance, summer tire made for passenger vehicles and SUVs. Continental offers a 30,000 mile treadwear warranty with this model. This model is EV-Ready, meaning these tires are compatible with both electric and traditional vehicles.

This tire promotes summer performance. The asymmetric tread pattern maintains the road contact in dry and wet weather conditions. At the same time, the summer compound prevents heat build-up in warm temperatures. This combination enables the tire to improve its performance in the summer season. The tire also prevents hydroplaning. Wide circumferential grooves eliminate water from the footprint in wet situations. This guarantees the tire's safe performance, even in wet-weather conditions.

The asymmetric tread design and its close road contact improve controllability. These elements strongly grip the road with extra biting edges, boosting steering responsiveness and driving stability. In other words, the steering response time is faster and more precise to the driver's commands, while the structure is secured against driving pressure. Wide shoulder blocks and their road contact increase cornering. On the other hand, the strong rubber compound prevents pressure accumulation across the tread area. The construction maintains the ideal tire shape under driving pressure throughout its high speed performance.

The Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02 offers a longer-lasting tread life. The ideal tread design evenly distributes the forces of acceleration, cornering, and braking. The special compound slows the tread wear rate down significantly. In this manner, this combination prevents irregular and premature wear formations, which leads to longer service life and usability.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
