OVERVIEW

The Bridgestone Potenza RE97AS RFT (OE) is a performance and high performance, all season tire manufactured for passenger vehicles. This model is the original equipment tire of select vehicles.

This model has exceptional all weather traction. The tread pattern and the all season compound grip the road surface excellently in dry, wet and even winter conditions. The all weather compound does not lose its traction in the colder winter temperatures and it provides safety in all types of seasonal weather. The tread design, with its circumferential grooves, helps resist dangerous hydroplaning situations. These grooves eliminate water and slush from under the tire's footprint. In this manner, the tire upgrades the year round driving security.

The model's steel belt reinforcement in the internal structure help lower the rolling resistance. The reduced rolling resistance lowers the vehicle's fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, and, at the same time, it slows down the tread wear rate. The tread wears out evenly, as the driving force is equally distributed along the tread area. This is made possible with the special tire compound used in the manufacture and with the maximized road contact area of the tire. The slower tread wear rate and the even wear of the tire make it usable for a longer period of time. The tire becomes more cost efficient and environmentally friendly in this way.

The tire is a run flat model. It was manufactured with a strengthened internal construction that allows the tire to withstand the weight of the vehicle and its passengers after air pressure loss. When air pressure leaves the tire due to a puncture or other damage, this structure maintains the optimal tire shape and allows the tire to be driven on for 50 miles up to the speed of 50 mph. This enables the driver to safely arrive to a near destination when they can change or fix the damaged tire. These tires are made for vehicles that have no space for spare tires. They cannot be mounted on the same vehicle as regular tires.

The Potenza RE97AS RFT (OE) provides great high speed performance. Firstly, its handling is effortless and its steering responsiveness is swift and accurate. This is made possible with the enlarged road contact patch of the tire. The tire is easy to steer and control as it maintains constant road contact. Secondly, the tire's special shape offers a better and more stable balance during high speed performance. This makes the tire safer to use at such speeds and it increases its high speed performing capability, as the tire does not lose is shape or balance.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
