OVERVIEW
The Armstrong Tru-Trac SU is a performance and high performance, all season tire manufactured for SUVs. This model has some touring sizes available.
Armstrong offers one of the best warranties in the tire industry. The brand promotes a limited 6-year warranty covering manufacturing defects. They also provide a road hazard warranty and 24/7 roadside assistance for the first 2 years after the purchase is made. Furthermore, Armstrong provides a 65,000 mile treadwear warranty with this model.
The tire ensures great all weather traction. The asymmetric tread design's siping detail and the all season tire compound work together to increase the dry, wet, and winter weather road gripping ability. They ensure the tire's consistent and firm road contact to boost the tire's high speed performing capability throughout the year. The tread's circumferential grooves prevent hydroplaning. They disperse water and slush from below the tire's footprint to improve the wet and winter weather traction. This ensures a safer year-round performance.
The model is easily controlled even during its high speed performance. The tread's excellent controllability is the result of its wider footprint, which keeps its road contact constant, and the stronger sidewall construction, which prevents the shape's deformation. This combination boosts the steering response time and accuracy to the driver's instructions, while also stabilizing the tire structure. The shoulder tread block pattern heightens the number of biting edges, which upgrades the cornering ability and power. In turn, the increased cornering ability and power upgrade the tire's secure high speed performance.
The reinforced sidewall structure also improves driving comfort. This strengthened construction maintains the tire's optimal shape at all times, and it does not let the tire deform under the driving pressure. This allows the tire to maintain constant road contact. In this manner, the tire is able to absorb the shock of driving which lowers the road vibrations felt in the vehicle's cabin. This results in a comfortable and enjoyable driving experience.
The Tru-Trac SU promotes a fuel-efficient performance. The tire's excellent traction eases the driving pressure off the tire, which decreases its rolling resistance. As the rolling resistance is significantly reduced, the vehicle does not need as much energy to keep the tires in motion. This lessens the vehicle's fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The reduced rolling resistance works together with the stabilized tread elements to prevent premature, irregular tread wear. The shoulder bottom base secures the tread elements and prevents tread flexing to avoid uneven tread wear, extending the tread life and the tire's usability.
Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
