235/60R16 Tires

Planning out your tire purchase is a good idea, but no plan is complete without considering the tire size you need for your vehicle. The tire size is not just a number, it is an intricate combination of numbers and letters – all of which have their own meaning. Keeping to the vehicle’s recommended tire size and finding the tires that work best for you in that category is the reliable option.

235/60R16 Tire Size Explanation

235 - This number represents the tire’s width in millimeters, measured from one shoulder to the other. In this case, the tire’s width is 235 mm (9.25 inches).
60 - The aspect ratio is expressed as a percentage of the tire’s height to its width. A 60-aspect ratio means that the tire’s height is 60% of its width (in this case it is 141 mm / 5.55 inches).
R - This indicates that the tire was manufactured with a radial construction, which is the most common tire construction type used today.
16 - This last number denotes the diameter of the wheel in inches. This tire was manufactured to be mounted on 16-inch (406.4 mm) wheels.
