OVERVIEW

The Yokohama AVID Ascend GT is a touring all season tire manufactured for passenger vehicles. Yokohama offers a 65,000 mile treadwear warranty with this model.

The tire promotes great all weather traction. The tread pattern, with its multiple 3D siping detail and the notched tread blocks, and the special TriBLEND compound work together to increase the dry, wet and winter weather road gripping capability. The compound uses low-Tg polymer and high silica levels to improve and maintain the tire's flexibility even in colder temperatures, while the siping detail and stabilized tread elements maintain a firm grip on the road surface. The tread pattern's optimal circumferential groove design effectively channels water and slush away from the tire's footprint, actively resisting hydroplaning when driving through standing water. The enhanced hydroplaning prevention and all weather traction ensure a safer year round driving experience.

The asymmetric tread pattern with the deep circumferential grooves and optimal siped and notched center ribs closely follows the road surface in all conditions. The stabilized tread elements, in this manner, upgrade the steering responsiveness and driving stability. In other words, the steering becomes faster and more precise in its responsiveness to the driver's commands, while the structure is stabilized against the driving pressure affecting the tire. The optimal asymmetric groove arrangement manages to shorten the braking distance significantly, even in wet and slippery weather.
