OVERVIEW

The Yokohama 104ZR is a highway terrain all season tire manufactured for commercial vehicles, made to be mounted on the steer axle.

The tire promotes great all weather road grip. The symmetric ribbed tread pattern and special all season tire compound work together to increase the dry, wet and winter weather road gripping ability. The tread pattern maintains its firm grip on the road surface in all weather, while the compound keeps its flexibility even in colder temperatures. The tire effectively avoids hydroplaning by actively dispersing water and slush from the tire's footprint with the wide circumferential grooves. The enhanced traction and excellent hydroplaning resistance ensure a safer year round performance.

Different tread elements work together to ensure a longer lasting tread life. The serpentine grooves pattern is designed to decrease the premature shoulder step down and uneven tread wear formations. The deeper grooves lengthen the tread life, while the casing innovations predict the changes in the tire's shape, and ensure an optimized tread design that improves tread stability. This enables the tire to evenly distribute the driving pressure along the tread area to avoid uneven wear. The unique rubber compound increases the tread life by slowing the tread wear rate down with the lower rolling resistance. The decreased rolling resistance also manages to reduce the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, making the model more fuel efficient and environmentally friendly.

The tire offers excellent controllability. The ribbed tread pattern keeps the tire's road contact at all times which boosts the steering responsiveness and driving stability. The 104ZR features a tread design that maintains a clean footprint. The block shaped stone guards located on the bottom of the tread grooves manage to eject rocks stuck between the tread elements.
