OVERVIEW
The Pirelli Scorpion Winter (J) is a performance and high performance, winter tire manufactured for SUVs and passenger vehicles. This model has some touring sizes too. This is the original equipment tire of select Jaguar vehicles.
The combination of the tire compound and special siping detail of the tread pattern improve the winter weather traction, even on ice and snow-covered roads. The tread design grips the road firmly in all winter conditions, while the circumferential grooves prevent hydroplaning with the advanced water and slush evacuations. The boosted road gripping and anti-hydroplaning ability improve the winter weather controllability.
The special new mold profile and the directional symmetric tread design, featuring modular block geometry and sipe layout, enhance the winter weather handling. They firmly grip the road surface and maintain constant road contact. This enhances the driving stability and the steering precision. As a result, the tire is stabilized against the driving pressure and the steering responsiveness to the driver's commands becomes quicker and more accurate, allowing the tire to be controlled with ease in all winter conditions.
The special combination of the mold profile and the special tread pattern ensure a safer cornering and braking ability. The tread's constant contact allows the tread to generate friction at the moment of braking, which shortens the braking distance and offers more secure stopping. The shoulder tread block sequence provides additional biting edges in all winter weather conditions, including on ice and snow, to improve the cornering and maneuvering ability and power. The boosted cornering and braking capabilities ensure excellent driving safety.
The Scorpion Winter (J) is very fuel efficient and environmentally friendly. The new winter weather tire compound increases the winter weather traction, which allows the tire to lower its rolling resistance. As the rolling resistance is reduced the tire offers excellent fuel consumption and CO2 emissions levels on the part of the vehicle.
Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
