OVERVIEW
The Pirelli P Zero (N1) is a high performance summer tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs. It is the second approved original equipment tire for select Porsche vehicle models.
The tire has superb summer weather traction. Its silica-based tire compound provides excellent road gripping ability in wet and dry weather. The model is not meant to be used in winter weather as the decreased traction in cold temperatures makes it dangerous to use in such weather. The wide circumferential grooves enhance the water dispersing ability and avoid hydroplaning to ensure safer wet weather traction.
The asymmetric tread pattern helps lower the road noise heard in the vehicle's cabin. The inner tread area features a variable pitch sequence that generates sound waves to negate the road noise heard while the tires are in motion. The outer tread area's low noise emission lowers the road noise levels created to lessen the discomfort caused by the road noise. The combination of these two elements improve the driving experience and make it quiet and comfortable.
The customized tire compound eases the driving pressure off of the tire, which reduces the rolling resistance. This in turn decreases the vehicle's CO2 emissions and fuel usage per mile, making the tire more fuel and cost efficient. The same tire compound also slows down the tread wear rate, offering longevity and extended usability.
The P Zero (N1)'s outside shoulder tread block sequence enhances its road gripping ability. The additional road grip and biting edges provided by the tread elements enhance the cornering ability and power. The better cornering and maneuvering capability ensures a secure drive in all summer weather.
Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
