OVERVIEW

The Nitto NT90W is a studless winter tire manufactured for sport utility and crossover vehicles.

The tire combines non-traditional materials and silica in its compound to ensure excellent winter weather traction. The non-traditional materials are used to increase traction on snow and ice-covered roads. The walnut shells work like miniature natural studs that firmly grip the road, while the bamboo charcoal soaks up the thin layer of water while driving on ice. The winter traction is further enhanced by the tread design's 3D multi-wave and interlocking siping detail. They further boosts the model's road gripping ability, which allows the tire to perform well in the harshest winter conditions. The tire's wide circumferential and lateral grooves and open shoulder grooves actively resist hydroplaning by eliminating water and slush from beneath the tire's footprint.

The model is easily controlled even in the most severe winter weather. The reinforced tread block design maintains the tread rigidity and stability which allows the tire to increase its road contact. This, along with the outer zone compound's excellent traction for handling, raises the tire's steering responsiveness and driving stability. The tire is quick and precise in its response to the driver's commands, while it is stabilized against the driving pressure. The tread compound's inner zone enhances the tire's performance by shortening the braking distance and advancing its acceleration ability. As a result, the driver is capable of controlling the tire with confidence in all winter weather.

The NT90W offers an extended tread life and tire usability. The reinforced tread blocks maintain their stability during the drive, which prevents them from shifting about. The better tread stability allows the driving pressure to be spread out across the tread area and not concentrate on one area of the tire. The equally spread out forces of acceleration, cornering and braking prevent irregular wear patterns from forming along the tread surface.
