OVERVIEW

The Nitto NT05R is a high performance summer tire manufactured for racing vehicles. This model is approved for street use by the Department of Transportation (DOT). The NT05R can only be mounted on the vehicle's rear axle.

The tire promotes excellent high speed traction. The R-compound was racing-inspired and it was designed to use in racing tires to ensure their best high speed performance. This compound prevents heat build-up and keeps the tire's traction during its performance. The extra sticky compound guarantees the tire's traction at all times. The tread design, on the other hand, features a semi-slick pattern that maximizes the tire's road surface area. The better road contact ensures the tire's grip on the road surface throughout the drive.

The enhanced road contact of the tread design also helps improve the controllability. The tread's wider, smooth center tread area increases the model's surface contact. The larger road contact area improves the tire's acceleration at the start of the lap by providing the tire an enlarged surface to grip onto. This tread design improves the steering responsiveness by increasing the steering response time and accuracy to the driver's instructions. The upgraded handling enables the driver's full control over the vehicle for the entire duration of the race.

The NT05R guarantees exceptional high speed performance. The tire's reinforced sidewall construction maintains the ideal tire shape under the high speed driving pressure. In other words, the tire does not deform under the pressure affecting it during the race, which enables the model to securely perform at its best high speed ability.
