This technology allows the tire to be driven on for 50 miles up to 50 mph in case of air pressure loss. Once air pressure leaves the tire due to a puncture or some other damage, the tire ensures its limited, temporary performance. The structure prevents the vehicle from being stranded on the side of the road. Instead, the vehicle can be driven to a nearby location where the damaged tire can be fixed or changed. Run flat tires should not be mounted on the same vehicle with regular tires.
