OVERVIEW
The Michelin Primacy HP ZP is a performance and high performance, summer tire manufactured for passenger vehicles.
The tire has exceptional summer weather traction. The asymmetrical tread pattern and the unique blend of the tread compound materials grip the road well in dry and wet weather. The model is not meant to be used in winter conditions as the tire compound loses its traction in colder winter temperatures. The circumferential tread grooves actively avoid dangerous hydroplaning situations by channeling water away from the tire footprint. This offers a safer summer weather driving experience.
The model was made with low hysteresis rubber which reinforces its sidewalls. This allows the tire to support the weight of the vehicle and passengers for 50 miles up to the speed of 50 mph after the loss of air pressure. These run flat tires prevent the driver from being stranded on the side of the road as they can be driven in case of air pressure loss. Such tires cannot be used together with regular radial tires, as run flat tires are heavier in their construction. These tires are usually made for vehicles that have no space for spare tires.
The tire's internal structure also features twin steel belts reinforced with the BAZ or Banded At Zero Technology, which uses spirally wrapped nylon strips. The enhanced internal structure becomes resistant against the driving forces affecting the tire, by maintaining its optimal shape. As the tire does not deform under the driving pressure, it is able to securely perform at high speeds. This also improves the model's controllability. The internal structure, along with the tread design's solid center rib and interconnecting shoulder tread blocks, keep the tire's constant road contact which allows for an upgraded steering responsiveness and driving stability that make the tire easier to control.
The unique blend of tread compound materials increases the tire's braking ability. The model shortens its braking distance by 5%, which allows a safer driving experience. The unique rubber compound creates friction along the tire footprint and road contact area at the moment of braking, which increases the braking ability. The shortened braking distance significantly boosts the tire's performing ability, especially in wet weather.
The Primacy HP ZP offers a quiet and comfortable driving experience. It utilizes Michelin's ComfortControl Technology that offers an optimized tire footprint and precision manufacturing. The optimized tire footprint increases the tire's road contact and channels the airwaves through the road contact area, without letting them come into contact with the tread elements. This reduces the road noise generated while the tires are in motion. The precision manufacturing ensures that the tire follows the road surface closely, which lowers the road vibrations felt in the vehicle's cabin. The combination of the lessened road noise and road vibrations offers a higher quality drive.
