OVERVIEW

The Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 ZP is a high performance, summer tire made for passenger vehicles.

The tire was designed with the Zero Pressure Technology. This technology reinforces the tire's structure to increase its durability. This enables the model to withstand the weight of the vehicle and its passengers in case of air pressure loss, offering a limited temporary performance. This ensures the tire's performance for 50 miles up to the speed of 50 mph after air pressure leaves the tire. In this manner, the vehicle is not stranded on the side of the road, but it can safely arrive at a nearby location. These tires cannot be mixed with regular tires on the same vehicle.

This model was manufactured using Michelin's Motorsport Technologies and the data gathered at the races. As a result, this model has excellent stability and durability at high speeds, increasing its high speed performance and traction. Thanks to the technologies used in its production and the maximized road contact area, the tire maintains its uniformity and exceptional stability under the pressure of high speed driving and offers a superior performance. The tire has excellent dry and wet weather traction due to the tire compound and the special asymmetric tread pattern. The rubber compounds used in the manufacture of the tire are a hybrid silica and a carbon black compound. This combination enhances the tires road grip in those weather conditions and provide a safe driving experience. Winter weather driving, however, is not recommended as the tire loses it superb traction in lower temperatures. The tread pattern design's wide circumferential grooves eliminate water from below the tire's footprint, resisting dangerous hydroplaning effectively.

The asymmetric tread pattern helps enhance the tire's steering responsiveness. The large outer shoulder blocks and the continuous ribs in the tread pattern increase the tire's stability at high speeds and provide more precise steering responsiveness. The enhanced steering makes the model more responsive to the commands of the driver, therefore the driver is capable of providing a quick response to differing surface conditions. The same semi-slick outer shoulder design is responsible for the improved cornering ability of this model.
