OVERVIEW
The Michelin Pilot Sport EV (OE) is a high performance, summer tire made for passenger vehicles and SUVs. This is an OE as it is the original equipment of select vehicles. This tire is designed for electric vehicles. This tire is for the rear axle position.
The model promotes excellent summer-weather traction. The asymmetric tread pattern closely follows the road surface in summer conditions. At the same time, the summer compound prevents heat build-up along the tread area in warmer temperatures. These elements increase the tire's traction in dry and wet conditions. Additionally, circumferential grooves actively prevent hydroplaning. They eliminate water from the footprint to prevent slipping on wet roads.
The optimal tread pattern and the close road contact increase overall controllability. This tread design maintains surface contact at all times, boosting steering responsiveness and driving stability. In other words, the steering response time becomes quicker and more precise to the driver's instructions, while the structure is secured against driving pressure. Wide shoulder blocks firmly grip the surface with extra biting edges, for better cornering and maneuvering.
The tire offers a fuel-efficient performance. This asymmetric tread design and the special silica compound reduce the rolling resistance. It presents the pressure that determines how much energy the vehicle needs to keep the tire in motion. Lowering the rolling resistance decreases fuel consumption and CO2 emissions in wet-weather conditions, these elements make this tire fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly.
