High Performance
The Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 is a high performance, summer tire. This model was made with racing in mind, but it increased the tire's performance for everyday use as well. Due to the endurance racing requirements, this tire has an increased tread life and better wet and dry traction. However, safer driving in deeper water is still recommended to avoid hydroplaning. This model has a better steering responsiveness and offers better safety at higher speeds. The Pilot Sport Cup 2 reinforced the shoulder tread on the tire for a longer lasting tread depth.
With the Total Performance technology, this tire was made especially for endurance racing, but it can be used for everyday on-road purposes.
Michelin's Bi-Compound Technology increases the tire's cornering grip and sharpens the steering responsiveness and handling in wet and dry conditions.
The Track Longliverty 2.0 technology lowers the wear rate of the tire's exterior shoulders and makes the tire's endurance better.
This model has increased tread compared to its predecessors, which makes the tire's tread last longer than before.
The grip and traction in dry road conditions was increased, but careful driving in wet weather is still recommended to avoid hydroplaning.
The Variable Contact Patch 3.0 expanded the contact area while driving which increases the cornering grip of the tire.
