This is Michelin's run flat technology, which enables the tire's limited, temporary performance. In this manner, when air pressure leaves the tire, it can be driven on for 50 miles up to the speed of 50 mph. This ensures that the vehicle is not stranded on the side of the road. Instead, it can be driven to a nearby location where the damaged tire can be fixed or changed. Run flat tires should not be mounted on the same vehicle with regular tires, as their internal structure is heavier.
