OVERVIEW
The Michelin Defender XT is a touring, all season touring tire for passenger vehicles and SUVs. Michelin offers a 90,000 mile warranty with these tires.
This model has superb all weather traction. Due to the special silica-based all season tread compound and IntelliSipe Technology tread pattern, this model has great road grip in dry, wet and winter conditions. The four circumferential and numerous lateral grooves channel water from beneath the tire, increasing its hydroplaning resistance. All of this makes the tire's driving experience safer.
This model ensures a quiet and comfortable drive. Michelin's Comfort Control Technology reduces the road vibrations felt and the road noise heard in the cabin of the vehicle. This technology uses extra precision in the manufacturing process to ensure uniformity in the tire, while it also optimizes the tread to minimize road noise.
The lowered rolling resistance of the tire reduces the fuel usage per mile. This is due to the special Green X Technology, which guarantees a lower level energy usage while also keeping the long tread wear safety and performance the manufacturer is known for. The longer tread life is thanks to the MaxTouch Constitution, which prevents irregular wear by distributing the acceleration, braking and cornering force evenly along the tread surface. These two technologies allow the tire to be more economic.
