OVERVIEW
The Kumho Solus KH17 is a touring, summer tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs.
The tire offers exceptional summer weather traction and it grips the road well in wet and dry weather conditions due to the silica based tire compound. It is, however, not recommended for use in winter weather, as the tire compound loses its exceptional traction in such weather conditions. The three wide circumferential grooves help resist hydroplaning by eliminating water from below the tire footprint.
The tire is effortless to handle in both dry and wet weather. The wider tire footprint maintains constant road contact, which improves the steering responsiveness and precision. The tire is quick and accurate in its response to the driver's commands, while it also provides great road feedback. The better feedback and enhanced steering allow the driver to confidently control the tire in summer weather. The great driving experience is further improved with the high speed linear driving stability. The model is capable of bringing out its fullest driving potential thanks to the symmetrical tread pattern.
A longer lasting tread life is guaranteed with this model. The silica based tire compound equally distributes the heat and the driving pressure across the tread area. This distribution prevents irregularities in the tread as it wears out and this makes the tire usable for a longer period of time. The silica compound also increases the tread stiffness. This slows down the tread wear rate, while also reinforcing the braking and cornering ability of the tire. The tread provides additional biting edges during these situations, allowing a shortened braking distance, and enhancing its cornering ability and power.
The silica compound and the tread pattern also enable a quiet and comfortable driving experience. The Solus KH17 cancels out the road noise generated while the tires are in motion. This is made possible because the compound and tread design absorb the sound waves, cancelling out the road and pattern noise.
