- Trailer axle commercial tire
- Enhanced durability
- Fuel efficient performance
- Lengthened tread life
OVERVIEW
The Goodyear Marathon LHT is a highway terrain, all season tire manufactured for commercial vehicles, to be mounted on their trailer axles.
The tire offers excellent all weather traction. The all season tire compound and the optimized tread design work together to enhance the dry, wet and winter weather road gripping ability. The compound maintains its flexible traction throughout the year, while the tread design firmly grips the road surface throughout the year. The tread's center circumferential groove avoids hydroplaning by dispersing water and slush from below the footprint. The increased hydroplaning resistance and all weather traction guarantee a safer performing and towing ability.
The flat footprint closely follows the road surface at all times. In this manner, the tire upgrades the tire's controllability, in other words, its steering responsiveness and driving stability. The steering becomes faster and more precise in its responsiveness to the driver's commands, while the structure is stabilized against the driving pressure affecting it. The flat footprint also ensures a secure cornering capability by heightening the number of biting edges firmly gripping the road surface. The better overall control enables the driver to securely maneuver the commercial vehicle in all conditions.
The tire's reinforced steel belt internal structure improves its durability. The steel belt construction maintains the tire's optimal shape under the driving and load pressure affecting the model. The tire does not deform as a result, which upgrades its performing capability. It also allows the tire to carry and withstand heavier weights with ease. The maintained optimal tire shape ensures a secure driving experience.
The enhanced tire compound increases the tire's traction, easing the driving pressure off its structure. This effectively lowers the rolling resistance, which is the external pressure affecting the tire that determines the amount of energy the vehicle needs to keep the tires in motion. The decreased rolling resistance reduces the vehicle's fuel consumption and CO2 emissions in turn, making the tire more fuel efficient and environmentally friendly in the process.
The Marathon LHT offers a lengthened tread life. The shoulder tread design manages to equally spread the driving pressure out across the tread area. The evenly distributed forces of acceleration, cornering and braking avoid irregular tread wear formations, which significantly extend the tread. The lowered rolling resistance also slows the tread wear rate down, by taking the driving and load pressure off the tire. The longer lasting tread life greatly increases the tire's usability.
