OVERVIEW

The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 ROF is a high performance, summer tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs.

The tire promotes great summer weather traction. The special motorsport racing inspired tire compound combines silica, for wet weather traction, resin, for dry weather traction, and polymers, for tread stiffness, to ensure a safer drive. The asymmetric tread design also boosts the dry and wet weather road gripping ability. The tread's wide circumferential grooves disperse water from beneath the tire's footprint, enhancing the wet weather traction in this manner and preventing hydroplaning. The model is not suited for winter weather performance.

This tire is a run flat model. Its reinforced structure enables the model to withstand the weight of the vehicle and its passengers in case of air pressure loss. When air pressure leaves the tire due to a puncture or other damage, the tire can still be driven on for 50 miles up to 50 mph. This limited temporary performance allows the vehicle to be driven to a nearby location, instead of being stranded on the side of the road. Run flat tires are made for vehicles without space for a space tire, and they cannot be mounted together with regular tires on the same vehicle.

The model also ensures first-rate controllability. The asymmetric tread design's maintained constant road contact ensures better steering responsiveness and driving stability. In other words, the tire's continuous center rib keeps the tire close to the road surface, which enhances the steering responsiveness and accuracy and stabilizes the tire's structure against the driving pressure. The tire's internal structure improves its performing ability as it was manufactured using technologies derived from motorsport racing. The construction features twin steel belts reinforced with a spirally wrapped polyamide cord to increase tire's stability. It prevents the tire from deforming under the driving pressure affecting the tire during the drive. The stronger construction ensures that the tire is capable of performing to its greatest high speed capability at all times.
