OVERVIEW
The Freestar Radial S/T FS-500 AST is a touring all season tire manufactured for trailers. This tire is NOT MEANT TO BE MOUNTED ON LIGHT TRUCKS, as its construction will not support the weight and performing style of such vehicles. It can ONLY BE MOUNTED ON TRAILERS.
The tire offers great controllability. The ribbed tread design's solid center rib and the closed shoulder pattern maintain the tire's road contact at all times. The upgraded road contact improves the steering responsiveness and the driving stability. In other words, the tire's structure is stabilized against the driving pressure affecting it, while the steering responsiveness to the towing vehicle's instructions becomes faster and more precise. The better road contact also increases the tire's lateral towing capability by securing the structure during the drive.
The model features a heavy-duty ply construction. It reinforces the tire's structure and prevents the deformation of its optimized shape. In this manner, the tire is capable of withstanding the load and driving pressure affecting the tire during the drive. As a result, the tire is able to carry and withstand heavy loads with ease, promoting a secure performing capability. The model also prevents stone retention from harming its casing. The grooves feature stone ejectors that eliminate rocks stuck between the tread elements. The strengthened load carrying ability and the prevention of stone retention improve the driving safety.
The Radial S/T FS-500 AST's notched ribs ensure a safer year round performance. They manage to firmly grip the road surface in dry, wet and winter weather. The tread's wide zig-zag circumferential grooves actively resist hydroplaning by eliminating water and slush from below the tire's footprint.
