OVERVIEW

The Firestone Champion Fuel Fighter is a touring all season tire manufactured for passenger vehicles. Firestone offers a 70,000 mile tread wear warranty with this model.

The special new silica-based tire compound used in the tire's manufacture and the optimized tire footprint work together to extend the tread life. The compound slows down the tread wear rate, while the optimized footprint prevents irregular wear patterns from forming across the tread area. The longer lasting even tread wear extends the tire's usability, making it more cost-efficient.

The silica compound and the tire's lightweight internal structure offers a fuel-efficient drive. The tire's rolling resistance is lowered with the enhanced road gripping ability of the tire compound and the lower overall tire weight. The rolling resistance is the force that determines how much energy the vehicle needs to consume to maintain the tire's motion. The lessened rolling resistance decreases the vehicle's fuel usage and CO2 emissions, making the tire more fuel efficient and environmentally friendly.

The optimized tire footprint and the reinforced internal structure boosts the steering responsiveness and the driving stability. The steering response to the driver's commands becomes quick and precise with the constant road contact, while the reinforced structure stabilizes the tire against the driving pressure. As the tire maintains its optimal shape and its contact with the road it becomes easier to control in all weather.

The tire's strengthened internal structure features twin steel belts reinforced with spirally wrapped nylon and the polyester body casing ensure the optimal tire shape and they do not let the tire deform under the driving pressure. The maintained optimal shape allows the tire to closely follow the road surface, which lowers the road vibrations felt in the vehicle's cabin. The result is a comfortable and enjoyable driving experience.

The Champion Fuel Fighter's compound and the optimized tread pattern with the full depth tread features boost the all weather road gripping ability. The tire has excellent dry, wet and winter weather traction, while the four wide circumferential grooves prevent hydroplaning by dispersing water and slush from below the tire footprint. The better water evacuation and the all weather traction ensure a safe year round driving experience.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
