M+S means the tire performs well in mud and snow and provides great traction in those conditions. The tread compound offers an exceptional tread life on its own, if it is not used in the summer months. The tire wears out quicker in summer due to the heat, which is why its use in summer months is not recommended. However, in the winter the tire maintains a slow wear rate. The center rib in the tread design balances out the driving force along the entire tread area, which prevent irregular wear on the tires. As the tire wear is evenly, it remains usable for a longer period of time.
