The Continental TrueContact EcoPlus is a touring, all season tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs. Continental offers a 90,000 mile treadwear warranty with this model.
The tire was manufactured with the special Tg-F polymer and +Silane additive compound which improves the wet traction significantly. The tread design grips the road well in all weather conditions, including winter weather situations. The tread pattern's grooves disperse water by eliminating water from below the tire footprint, enhancing wet weather traction and resisting hydroplaning. This makes the tire safer to use all year round.
The same tire compound lowers the overall weight of the tire, which decreases the rolling resistance. The tire's rolling resistance determines how much energy the vehicle uses up to keep the tires in motion. The lower the rolling resistance, the less fuel the vehicle wastes to stay in motion. The Tg-F polymer and +Silane compound decrease the rolling resistance and lowers the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions of the vehicle in all weather. This makes the tire both cost- and fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly.
