OVERVIEW
The Continental SureContact LX is a touring all season tire manufactured for SUV, crossover and light truck vehicles. Continental offers a 70,000 mile treadwear warranty with this tire model.
The tire offers a longer lasting tread life, which is achieved by the combination of the silica compound, the larger tire footprint and the alignment indicators. The silica compound slows down the tire's tread wear rate as it promotes exceptional all weather traction. The larger, optimized footprint prevents irregular wear patterns from forming on tire's tread by evenly distributing the driving pressure and forces across the tread area. The alignment indicators show whether the vehicle's alignment is correct or not. They are located on the two shoulders of the tire and their wear pattern shows the good or bad alignment of the vehicle. These aspects working together ensure an increased tread life.
The silica-based tire compound also ensures a lower energy need of the vehicle. It lowers the rolling resistance, which in turn reduces the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions of the vehicle. The vehicle needs less energy to keep the tires in motion and it decreases the fuel usage. The model becomes both cost and fuel efficient and environmentally friendly in this manner.
The model also offers a safer and shorter braking distance. The tire's enlarged footprint provides a bigger road contact patch. At the moment of braking this bigger contact area creates better and stronger friction which makes the tire stop shorter. The shortened braking distance enhances the safety levels of the tire and ensure a confident drive.
The tire has great all weather traction and the symmetric tread pattern allows the tire to grip the road in dry, wet and winter weather. The better road grip enables the tire to safely perform in all conditions and road surfaces. The circumferential tread grooves are hydroplaning resistant as they eliminate water and slush from below the tire footprint.
The SureContact LX's reinforced internal structure features twin steel belts. This reinforcement maintains the tire's durability. As the tire does not deform under the driving pressure it can safely follow the road surface, which reduces the road vibrations felt in the cabin of the vehicle.
