OVERVIEW
The Continental PureContact is a touring, all season tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs. Continental offers a 70,000 mile treadwear warranty with this tire model.
The tire improves the all weather traction. The all season compound and the detailed asymmetric tread pattern enhance the dry, wet and winter grip on the road surface. The durable compound elements optimize the rubber flexibility in year round temperatures, which upgrades the summer and winter weather performance. On the other hand, the siping placement across the tread area upgrades the grip on the road surface with extra biting edges. The circumferential grooves prevent hydroplaning by dispersing water and slush from the footprint, resulting in a wet weather performance.
The maintained surface contact also improves the controllability. The better road contact upgrades the steering responsiveness and the driving stability while the tires are in motion. This offers a quicker and more precise steering response, while the structure is secured against the driving pressure affecting the tire. The high-density siping placement upgrades the number of biting edges gripping the road surface at the moment of braking, generating friction and greatly decreasing the braking distance. This combination enhances the tire's overall handling.
The strengthened construction and the ComfortRide technology work together to decrease the road vibration levels. The structure's jointless polyamide reinforcement maintains the ideal tire shape and ensures a constant close surface contact. The ComfortRide technology offers extra cushioning to the tire with an added rubber layer. This combination effectively absorbs the shock of driving, lowering the road vibrations felt by the passengers. This results in a comfortable and enjoyable driving experience.
The Continental PureContact increases the usability. The asymmetric tread design's even pressure distribution avoids irregular and premature wear formations, extending the tread life. The tread also features Tuned Performance Indicators, which show the tire's performance in Wet, Dry and Snow condition. The letters W, D and S are visible on the tread, and they wear along with the tread. Once the letter representing the weather condition is worn out, the tire is no longer safe to be used in such weather situations. For example, once the S wears away, the tire loses its winter weather driving safety.
