OVERVIEW

The Continental PremiumContact 6 SSR (*) is a performance and high performance, summer tire manufactured for SUVs and passenger vehicles. This specific tire is marked with (*) as it is the original equipment of BMW vehicles. This model is EV-Ready, meaning these tires are compatible with both electric and traditional vehicles.

This tire is a run flat model, promoting a limited, temporary performance in case of air pressure loss caused by damage. The reinforced sidewalls are able to support the tire and allow it to perform at 50 mph for 50 miles after air leaves the tire, preventing the vehicle from being stranded. It enables the driver to safely take the vehicle to the nearest location and change the tire. The run flat models and regular tires should not be mounted together on the same vehicle due to their differences in construction.

The model utilizes its asymmetric tread elements to provide a high number of biting edges to the driving surface. This boosts the overall controllability and driving stability of the vehicle. These tread elements enable the tire to respond faster and more precisely to the driver's commands, while structure is secured against the driving pressure. It allows the driver to control the vehicle with confidence at high speeds, offering a better and safer driving experience.

The strong compound materials and the asymmetric tread design work together to boost the summer weather performance. The heat-resistant compound materials avoid heat build-up across the tread area and optimize the footprint's road contact at higher temperatures. This greatly boosts the traction on dry and wet road surfaces. On the other hand, the circumferential grooves eject water from the footprint. It effectively avoids the risk of hydroplaning and promotes a better and safer summer traction.

The Continental PremiumContact 6 SSR (*) performs great at high speeds, thanks to its detailed asymmetric tread and optimized rubber flexibility. The specially designed groove pattern and notch placement provide a high number of biting edges, upgrading the tire's maneuvering power. The cornering power is enhanced, while braking distance is greatly shortened. On the other hand, the tire avoids heat build-up at high speeds and keeps the tire in shape while in motion.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
