OVERVIEW
The Continental ContiVanContact 100 is a highway terrain, summer tire manufactured for commercial trucks and vans.
The tire's tread pattern and silica-based tire compound increase its summer weather traction. The tire grips the road excellently in dry and wet weather, but it is not recommended for use in colder winter weather. The compound loses its traction in lower temperatures, making its use dangerous in such conditions. The wide tread grooves enhance the wet traction and the hydroplaning resistance by channeling the water away from the tire's footprint. This makes the tire safer to use in summer weather.
The tire offers a longer lasting tread life. The optimized tread pattern and special tire compound prevent irregular wear across the tread area as they distribute the force of acceleration, cornering and braking equally across the tire. The even distribution slows down the tread wear rate, which is further enhanced with the silica-based compound that lowers the rolling resistance. The reduced rolling resistance makes the tire more cost and fuel efficient as it decreases the tire's tread wear rate, the vehicle's fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The tire is environmentally friendly as a result.
The model's tread pattern prevents damage by eliminating rocks and stones from between the tread elements. This prevents stone retention, which can cause chipping and tearing to the tread area. The optimized tread design also improves the tire's resistance to damage caused by external forces, which enables it to resist curb abrasion, making the tire safer to use in everyday driving situations.
The ContiVanContact 100 was manufactured with reinforced sidewalls, which enable it to handle larger loads better. The tire can withstand and carry heavier weights that are packed into the van, making its use more versatile.
