OVERVIEW
The Continental ContiSportContact 3 (AO) is a high performance, summer tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs. This model is the original equipment tire of select Audi vehicles.
This model has excellent wet and dry traction thanks to the tread pattern and silica-based compound, but the tire will not perform well in winter conditions. The circumferential grooves in the tread pattern help evacuate water from beneath the tire, increasing its resistance to hydroplaning. This also greatly enhances the tire's wet traction.
The tread design of the tire also enhances its braking capabilities. The tire's maximized contact with the road allows extra control and power, shortening the braking distance and making the tire safer. This constant road contact also helps reduce the road noise heard in the cabin of the vehicle, making the driving experience enjoyable.
The steering precision and responsiveness are enhanced with this model by the solid tread blocks and the center rib of the tread pattern, and it improves the high speed stability as well. The asymmetric tread pattern offers exact precision and driving solidity, while also increasing the tire's balance, cornering ability and traction. The ContiSportContact 3 (AO)'s low rolling resistance combined with the lower weight of the tire compound provide faster acceleration, greatly increasing the tire's performance.
Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
