OVERVIEW

The Bridgestone Potenza S007 (*) is a high performance, summer tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs. This model is the original equipment tire for select BMW vehicles. The tire is designed for the front axle position.

The model improves the summer weather traction. The summer compound, with the stronger rubber materials, and the asymmetric tread design enhance the dry and wet surface grip. The heat-resistant compound keeps the tire cool in high-heat summer temperatures, while the tread design optimally grips the road surface. The circumferential grooves prevent hydroplaning by dispersing water from below the footprint, significantly upgrading the wet weather road grip. This model is not for winter weather applications.

The tread design and the internal structure work together to enhance the high speed handling. The ribbed tread pattern maintains the surface contact of the tire, upgrading the steering responsiveness and the driving stability. The constant surface contact improves the steering response time and accuracy to the driver's commands, while the structure is stabilized against the driving pressure. The strengthened steel belt and nylon construction maintains the ideal tire shape under the high speed driving pressure. This is combined with the prevention of heat build-up along the tread area to ensure the tire's exceptional high speed performing ability. In this manner, the tire ensures the driver's full control over the vehicle throughout its high speed performance.

The Potenza S007 (*) also upgrades the maneuvering ability. The tread design's wider shoulder pattern increases the cornering ability. This tread maintains the surface contact at all times, while the stronger structure keeps the ideal tire shape during maneuvering, which boosts the cornering power. The optimal surface contact and the durable summer compound help decrease the braking distance. They create friction between the road and the tire, while avoiding heat build-up, which significantly shortens the braking distance. The result is the tire's better controllability.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
