OVERVIEW
The Bridgestone Blizzak WS70 is a touring, winter tire made for passenger vehicles.
The tire provides first-rate winter weather traction and it grips all snow and ice covered roads with ease. It was manufactured with the Multi-cell tire compound that cuts through thin layers of surface water to increase the ice and snow traction. The model is marked with the three mountain peak and snowflake symbol as it is capable of conquering the most severe winter weather conditions. The tread pattern's four wide, circumferential grooves eliminate water and slush from below the tire footprint and enhance the tire's hydroplaning resistance. While the tire is not meant to be used in summer weather, it performs excellently in all colder temperature situations.
This model's high speed performance is also superb. The NanoPro technology allows it to maintain its great traction and road grip even at high speeds, while its optimized footprint and shape keep constant road contact. The tire's internal structure features twin steel belts, spirally wrapped with nylon cords, that enhance the high speed durability. The tire preserves its optimal tire shape at all times and it does not deform under the high speed driving pressure and external forces affecting the tire. This extra durability increases the high speed driving safety and, as the tire does not lose its traction, it allows the tire to perform to its best performance capabilities.
The Blizzak WS70 offers a longer lasting tread life. The optimized tire footprint and shape prevent irregularities across the tread area. This is made possible as the forces of accelerating, cornering and braking are equally distributed along the tire's tread, which forces the tire to wear out evenly. The tire also features tread wear indicators that show when the tire is about to lose its excellent traction as it wears out. The Multi-cell compound is present on 60% of the tread compound and when the tire wears down to 50% the tread wear indicators show that it only has 10% left of the special tire compound. This lets the driver know when a tire change is in order.
