OVERVIEW
The Yokohama W.drive ZPS is a performance, winter tire manufactured for passenger vehicles.
This model was designed with Yokohama's run flat technology. This reinforces the structure in order to enable the tire's limited, temporary performance after air pressure loss. In other words, the tire is able to be driven for 50 miles, at 50 mph once air pressure leaves the tire due to a puncture or some other damage. As a result, the vehicle will not be stranded on the side of the road. Run flat tires should not be mixed with regular tires on the same vehicle, as they have a heavier internal structure.
Winter weather traction is guaranteed. The detailed asymmetric tread design and the special Micro-Silica compound work together to achieve this. Its 3D zigzag sipes and the optimized tread blocks generate extra biting edges, optimizing its performance on ice- and snow-covered road surfaces. The silica elements of the compound maintain rubber flexibility in freezing temperatures. Circumferential and lateral grooves channel water and slush from the footprint, actively preventing hydroplaning as well.
The ideal footprint's stability enables the tire's consistent surface contact. This greatly improves steering responsiveness and driving stability. Additionally, the shoulder block placement provides additional biting edges to enhance its cornering ability. On the other hand, the special zigzag sipe and groove pattern generate friction when braking. This significantly minimizes its stopping distance. This combination makes sure the driver has excellent control over the vehicle at all times.
The W.drive ZPS also features a reinforced internal structure. The special polyester casing and other strengthened structural elements keep the ideal tire shape under pressure. This allows the tire to safely perform at its best ability, even during its high speed applications.
