OVERVIEW

The Nokian WR G3 is a performance and high performance, all weather tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs. Nokian offers a 55,000 mile treadwear warranty with this model.

The tread design and tire compound work together to ensure safer all weather traction. The tread design features 3D lock sipes and snow claws that firmly grip the road surface, even in harsh winter conditions. The canola oil and silica-enhanced tire compound maintains its flexibility in versatile temperatures, guaranteeing a safer performance. The tread design’s two wide circumferential grooves, numerous lateral grooves and high density siping detail boost the hydroplaning resistance by eliminating water from below the tire footprint.

The model promotes excellent fuel efficiency. The silica in the tire compound lowers the rolling resistance by increasing the tire’s road gripping ability and easing the pressure off it. The rolling resistance is the force affecting the tire that determines how much energy the vehicle needs to keep the tires in motion. The reduced rolling resistance makes the vehicle both fuel efficient and environmentally friendly. The lowered rolling resistance, along with the evenly distributed driving pressure across the tread area, lengthens the tread life as well. The longer lasting tread life and tire usability make the tire more cost efficient.

The tire is easily controlled. The Groove Lifts on the tread design’s tread blocks and the special 3D Lock Sipes increase the tire’s road gripping ability and stabilize it during the drive. The better stability allows the tire to maintain its optimal shape under the driving pressure. This also allows the tire to increase its steering responsiveness and accuracy by maintaining constant road contact. This lets the driver confidently and safely control the vehicle in all weather situations.

The WR G3’s tread design sports the Driving Safety Indicators and Winter Safety Indicators on its main rib. The Driving Safety Indicators visually represent the tire’s tread wear in millimeters and the driver can easily check how much tread life is left on the tires. The Winter Safety Indicators place a snowflake on the center rib which disappears with the tread wear. When the snowflake wears off the tire, the model is no longer safe to be used in winter conditions. The accessible visual representation lets the driver take notice when the tire is nearing the end of its winter weather traction and provides enough time to get the tires replaced before they become unsafe for use.

All weather tires receive the three mountain peak and snowflake (3PMS) symbol for their exceptional winter weather performance. They are all season tires with extra winter weather grip, in order to guarantee safer year-round durability. This ensures their true and secure driving ability throughout the year.
