OVERVIEW
The Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus ZP is a high performance, all season tire manufactured for passenger vehicles.
The tire is the run flat version of the Pilot Sport A/S Plus tire. This model, with its enhanced sidewalls, is able to withstand and support the weight of the vehicle and its passengers for 50 miles at the maximum speed of 50 mph after the loss of air pressure. In these situations, the tire allows the driver to safely get to a destination where the tire can be changed or fixed. Run flat tires should not be mixed with radial tires, as they are heavier than regular tires.
This all season tire has excellent all weather traction and it grips the road surface well in all conditions, including in lower temperatures. The tire's specially designed symmetric tread pattern and TriFusion Compound structure enable this remarkable all weather performance. The symmetric tread pattern improves wet surface grip by resisting hydroplaning in dangerous situations by channeling water from beneath the footprint. The TriFusion Compound fuses three different tread compounds together using Michelin's C3M tire manufacturing process, for better road grip in all weather conditions.
The tire's lightweight steel cord structure, made possible by the Filament at Zero (or FAZ) Technology, and tire compound prevent irregular wear along the tread. This extends the tire's life by regulating even wear and slowing down the wear process. The FAZ technology also enables and enhances the tire's perfect precision when it comes to steering. The tire provides excellent feedback to the driver.
The Pilot Sport A/S Plus ZP's circumferential rib offers extra comfort to the passengers of the vehicle. This also lowers the road noise heard in the cabin of the vehicle, making the driving experience more comfortable.
