Journey H173
FEATURES AND BENEFITS
- All season tire
- Hydroplaning prevention
- Increased durability
- Enhanced towing stability
OVERVIEW
The Journey H173 is a highway terrain, all season tire manufactured for trailers. This tire is NOT MEANT TO BE MOUNTED ON LIGHT TRUCKS, as its construction will not support the weight and performing style of such vehicles. It can ONLY BE MOUNTED ON TRAILERS.
The model combats hydroplaning with the specific design of its grooves. Four circumferential and many angled lateral grooves drain water and slush from under the tire, averting hydroplaning. The tread blocks with their sipes offer extra biting edges for stronger road grip in winter conditions. The blocks also put a greater rubber area on the road, increasing dry traction. Moreover, the all season compound keeps the tire flexible, improving its year-round performance.
The tire sports a bias-ply construction. It strengthens the model and allows it to equally distribute pressure across the footprint, minimizing the chance of its build-up on sensitive tread areas. As such, the tire can easily handle and transport heavy weights and loads without deforming. The ribbed tread design also helps with pressure distribution, enhancing structural integrity while driving.
The Journey H173 greatly benefits from the sturdier construction. It helps the tire keep its best shape together with the stiff sidewalls and the five-rib design. The dense arrangement of tread blocks ensures optimal pressure distribution, ensuring a seamless road connection and better stability during the performance. The greater road-to-rubber area enhances traction. The sipes also upgrade the road grip to ensure maximum response to the towing vehicle. These elements in combination prevent the swaying of the vehicle, delivering a safer towing experience.
