OVERVIEW
The Goodyear Wrangler Armortrac is an all terrain, all season tire manufactured for SUVs and light trucks. Goodyear offers a 50,000 mile treadwear warranty with SUV sizes and a 45,000 mile warranty with light truck sizes.
The tire offers excellent all weather traction. The all season tire compound and the symmetric tread design work together to enhance the dry, wet and winter weather road gripping ability. The all season compound maintains the tire's flexibility throughout the year. The tread elements, with the optimal siping detail, firmly grip the road surface in all weather, including on ice- and snow-covered road and terrain surfaces. The tread's wide groove pattern avoids hydroplaning. Its grooves channel water and slush from the tire's footprint and enhance the wet and winter weather traction. The improved traction and hydroplaning resistance guarantees a secure year round performance.
The tread pattern and strengthened tire compound also increase the tire's off-road capabilities, offering more terrain surface versatility. The stronger compound is wear and damage resistant and it withstands the harsh environment of the tire's off-road performance. The staggered tread blocks, open shoulders and wide grooves firmly grip the soft, loose and uneven terrain surface and promote a safer off-road driving experience. This tread design also manages to increase the tire's self-cleaning capability. They disperse mud and snow and eject rocks stuck between the tread elements. In this manner, the tread keeps a clean footprint and it actively resists stone retention from harming the tire's casing.
The model guarantees remarkable on- and off-road controllability. The tread block sequence and the flat footprint allow the tire to maintain its road contact at all times. This increases the steering responsiveness and the driving stability. The steering is faster and more precise in its response to the driver's commands, while the structure is stabilized against the driving pressure affecting it in this manner. The tread's shoulder blocks heighten the biting edges that grip the road and terrain surface to enhance the cornering and maneuvering capability. The better control over the tire enables the driver to confidently steer the vehicle even on the most rugged terrain surfaces.
The flat footprint and the optimal tread design also ensure a lengthened tread life. They promote constant contact which manages to evenly distribute the forces of acceleration, cornering and braking along the tread area. The equally spread out driving pressure avoids irregular tread wear formations on the tire's surface. The longer lasting even tread wear extends the tread life, and, with it, the tire's usability and service life significantly.
The Wrangler Armortrac was made with a special sidewall design. It protects the rims from accidental curb and other off-road damage.
