OVERVIEW
The Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice is a touring, winter tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs.
The tire offers great winter weather traction and it grips all winter road surfaces with ease thanks to the silica based tire compound and the special winter tread pattern. The siping detail in the tread pattern provides additional grip for ice-covered roads, enhancing the model's cold temperature safety. The circumferential and lateral grooves help disperse water and slush from below the tire footprint for enhanced hydroplaning resistance.
The tread pattern was designed with an advanced pitch sequence and tread block shift. This creates sound frequencies that cancel out the road and pattern noise that is generated while the tires are in transit. The cancellation of the road and pattern noise usually heard in the cabin of the vehicle offers a quiet and comfortable driving experience.
The longer lasting tread life makes the tire more cost-efficient. The stiff tread base platform provides rigidity to the tread and makes it resistant to wear, extending the tread life. The tread pattern also contributes to the elongated life. It spreads the driving pressure out equally along the tread area, which prevents uneven wear on the tire. The longer lasting, even wear makes the tire usable for a longer period of time, as it avoids wobbling that can cause discomfort to the passengers and ruin the vehicle's alignment and cause excessive tread wear.
The Ultra Grip Ice is handled and controlled effortlessly and easily. The tread pattern's heavy shoulder block design increases the road contact area and provides driving stability in winter conditions. The better contact between the tire and the road increases the steering responsiveness and accuracy. The tire reacts to the driver's instructions swiftly and precisely, allowing them to confidently control the tire in all colder temperature conditions.
