The PI02 Winter is not an exception to this rule. It uses a studdless tread design to ensure constant forward motion. The tread design features a continuous center rib and ideally places shoulder tread blocks that maintain the tire’s surface contact. Furthermore, the tread features a high-density siping detail that enables the tire to increase the number of biting edges gripping the road surface throughout the drive. The tread’s upper sidewall’s detailed siping pattern and tread block design enhances the grip in deeper snow, preventing the tire from being stuck while driving through snow-covered surfaces. The tread’s ideal compound improves the rubber flexibility in colder temperatures. It keeps the tire’s traction in versatile winter conditions, ensuring the model’s safer performance.

The optimized tread design also features four circumferential and numerous angled lateral grooves that enhance the wet and slippery performance. These tread elements actively prevent hydroplaning, which is a dangerous road hazard which happens when water and slush on the road cut off the tire’s surface contact. This causes the vehicle to skid and the driver to lose control over it. The optimal groove placement channels water and slush from the footprint, keeping the tire’s surface contact throughout its performance. They also eliminate snow stuck between the tread elements during the drive. As a result, the tire keeps its contact with the road surface, enabling its excellent driving safety.
