Summer Weather Traction

All summer tires have one thing in common: they are able to withstand heat, be it from the outside temperature or the high speed drive. They heat preventing summer compound and optimized tread pattern ensure exceptional dry and wet weather traction, while guaranteeing the tire’s constant road contact to prevent hydroplaning.

The FP8000 promotes just that. High speed dry and wet weather traction thanks to the directional tread design and the special summer weather compound. The 3D rounded tread blocks increase the tire’s grip on the road surface during the drive, while the dual tread compound optimizes the tire’s traction in different weather. This compound prevents heat build-up along the tread area, avoiding premature tread wear in the process and upgrading the high speed performing capability. However, as all summer tires, the FP8000 is not suited for winter weather performance.

The tire’s tread features wide circumferential and angled lateral grooves that disperse water and slush away from the tire’s footprint. This allows the tire to channel water away from the tire’s footprint, guaranteeing the model’s constant contact with the road surface. As a result, the model effectively avoids hydroplaning and it increases the wet weather traction and driving safety.

High Speed Controllability

A tire’s tread design greatly influences the vehicle’s controllability. Tires are the only link between the road surface and the vehicle, and as such the vehicle’s steering relies solely on them.

The FP8000 features a directional tread pattern with the continuous solid center rib that closely follows the road surface throughout the tire’s performance. The upgraded steering enables the driver to confidently maneuver the vehicle at all times.

The model’s reinforced high-tension carcass maintains the ideal tire shape under the high speed driving pressure. In this manner, the tire manages to stabilize its structure against the driving pressure affecting it, while also keeping the ideal tire shape. The tire does not deform during its high speed performance as the stronger construction enables the tire to securely perform at its best high speed capability.

The special tread design’s larger shoulder tread blocks help improve the FP8000’s cornering ability. These tread blocks, with their siping detail, keep the tire’s contact with the road surface and increase its grip with the additional biting edges they provide. The increasing cornering grip enables the tire’s safer maneuvering ability and it gives full control over the vehicle to the driver.

Quiet Performance

The FP8000 was designed with a special variable phase-shift tread pattern.
