Trailer tires offer excellent all weather performance and high load durability. This is especially true for models featuring a bias ply construction. While such tires offer a rougher performance, they guarantee great load durability and high levels of driving safety.

Priority Tire offers different bias ply trailer tires for sale. One such model is the Carlisle Sport Trail which combines all weather traction, great durability and a fuel efficient performance to ensure its greatest performing capability.

ALL WEATHER TRACTION

All weather traction

Most trailer tires offer good all weather traction. They mainly utilize their tread design to optimize the traction between the road and the footprint to ensure the vehicle’s forward motion. However, as trailers only have free-rolling axles, their tires do not need to have as strong a traction as the towing vehicle’s tires do.

The Sport Trail features a symmetric ribbed tread design, which was molded from an all season tire compound. These work together to enhance the dry, wet and winter weather road gripping capability. The symmetric ribbed pattern’s surface contact enhances the grip, while the compound keeps the tire pliable in versatile temperatures. As a result, the tire ensures a safer performance all year round.

The tread design’s circumferential grooves prevent hydroplaning. Hydroplaning is a dangerous road hazard which happens when the tire loses its surface contact due to the water and slush prevent on the road surface. The Sport Trail uses its grooves to disperse water and slush from below the footprint, maintaining the tire’s surface contact at all times. As a result, water and slush cannot cut off the tire’s road contact, which boosts the wet and winter weather driving security.

BIAS INTERNAL STRUCTURE

Bias ply internal structure

Bias ply tires improve their performing durability by reinforcing the internal structure. These tires feature a construction with an angled ply placement that strengthens the tire under the load pressure, while also promoting excellent damage resistance.

The Sport Trail’s reinforced bias ply internal structure maintains the ideal tire shape under the load and driving pressure. In this manner, the tire improves the load carrying and withstanding ability and power, resulting in the tire’s higher load capacity. This structure also protects the tire against external damage. It guards the tire’s casing from debris and punctures, which may shorten their service life. By avoiding damage, the tire greatly extends the tire’s usability and minimizes its downtime.

FUEL EFFICIENT PERFORMANCE

Trailer tires which offer a fuel conscious performance optimize the towing vehicle’s fuel intake levels. In this manner, they ensure an environmentally friendly drive throughout their service life.

The Sport Trail enhances the all weather traction with its tread design and all season compound. The better surface contact enables the model to ease the driving pressure off the tire during its performance, which significantly lowers its rolling resistance. The rolling resistance is the driving pressure affecting the tire which determines the towing vehicle’s fuel intake levels and its needed energy use to keep the tires in motion. As a result, the reduced rolling resistance decreases the vehicle’s fuel consumption and CO2 emission levels, guaranteeing a fuel and environmentally conscious driving and towing experience.
