Review of Characteristics
The Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 Plus tires are loved by many drivers, thanks to the various benefits they offer. From their all season traction to their fuel-efficient drive, they are known for their excellent performance. Continue reading our Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 Plus Tires Review and learn what else they offer.

Fuel-Efficient Performance
The Ecopia EP422 Plus was molded using the NanoPro-Tech tread compound, like many tires in Bridgestone's Ecopia lineup. This technology disperses silica equally in the rubber, which is an issue many tire brands wish to tackle. The NanoPro-Tech compound utilizes rubber molecules to bind well with silica particles to improve the tire's wet traction and fuel efficiency.
This compound blend and the special Fuel Save Sidewall, which prevents sidewall flexing, minimize the pressure placed on the tires throughout the performance. As a result, the tire's overall rolling resistance is decreased. The rolling resistance is the pressure that determines the vehicle's necessary fuel consumption while the tires are in motion. Lowering it helps lessen the vehicle's fuel intake and CO2 emissions, leading to a fuel-conscious driving experience and better fuel economy.

Excellent All Season Grip
The special NanoPro-Tech compound and the detailed asymmetric tread design guarantee exceptional year-round performance. A dry, wet, and light winter grip is offered with the Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 in this manner.
The tread pattern features angled notches and multiple sipes that firmly grip the road surface. This is achieved by generating extra biting edges, which boost the tire's traction in different weather conditions. Additionally, the NanoPro-Tech compound's equal silica distribution keeps the tire pliable in various temperatures, optimizing its summer and light winter performance. This compound blend also further enhances the tire's wet traction.

Hydroplaning is also avoided with this model. The tread features four circumferential grooves that channel water and slush away from the footprint. This makes sure the tire's surface contact is not cut off on wet roads, promoting safer wet traction and secure performance.
Optimized Controllability
The asymmetric tread pattern of these Ecopia tires results in a flat footprint and a maximized road contact patch that manages to maintain surface contact throughout the drive. The tire offers great controllability and maneuvering as a result.
The enlarged road contact patch of these Bridgestone tires ensures consistent road contact throughout the performance. This leads to better steering responsiveness and driving stability. Quick and accurate steering responses are promoted in this manner, while the structure is stabilized against driving pressure. On the other hand, the shoulder block pattern, with its sipe placement, creates biting edges to improve cornering and maneuvering.

This footprint also distributes weight evenly across the tread area. This not only further boosts the tire's handling, but also helps combat irregular and premature wear. In other words, it lengthens tread life, which earned the Ecopia EP422 Plus its 70,000 mileage warranty.
Low Road Noise Levels
Most Ecopia tires also manage to decrease road noise levels, and the Ecopia EP422 Plus is not an exception. The asymmetric tread design features a variable pitch pattern, which generates a special sound-canceling frequency that negates sound waves before they can reach the vehicle's cabin.
Its maximized contact patch ensures close road contact throughout the tire's performance. The tire absorbs the driving shock in this manner, significantly lowering road vibrations. By decreasing both road noise and vibrations, the tire promotes a quiet and comfortable driving experience.

Customer Review
While we do not have many reviews for the Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 Plus, here are some thoughts from our customers:

Bridgestone Ecopia EP422
The Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 is a touring, all season tire, much like the Ecopia EP422 Plus model. But there are two main differences between them. Firstly, their tread patterns are completely different. Secondly, the Ecopia EP422 offers a 65,000 mile treadwear warranty, which is less than the Plus version's 70,000 mile guarantee.
Bridgestone also used its NanoPro-Tech compound and an asymmetric ribbed pattern to ensure excellent year-round traction and hydroplaning resistance. The tire's lighter weight and the special silica compound blend decrease its rolling resistance, leading to a fuel-efficient performance. However, the tire's steel belt structure is strong enough to prevent punctures and other damage.
The tire features two center ribs and an optimal shoulder pattern that were molded using Bridgestone's NanoPro-Tech compound. The footprint generates traction with the numerous sipe and notch placements to ensure a better dry, wet, and light winter grip. Additionally, the closed shoulder pattern prevents sound wave formations, making sure road noise does not reach the vehicle's cabin. The continuous center ribs maintain road contact and upgrade handling and maneuvering throughout the drive.
Compared to the Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 Plus, the Ecopia EP422 has a shorter treadwear warranty. Still, there is only a 5,000 mile difference between them.

Expert's Opinion
The Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 Plus is the perfect choice for everyday commuters. As the tire is available in passenger car and SUV sizes, it is suitable for versatile vehicles. This touring model keeps road noise low and fuel consumption even lower, without sacrificing traction and controllability.
Thanks to the ideal NanoPro-Tech compound that Bridgestone uses for most Ecopia tires, both the EP422 and the EP422 Plus are low rolling resistance tires. By combining this with their excellent mileage warranties, the brand managed to create two truly budget-friendly tires.
While the Ecopia EP422 Plus is great for everyday driving, it only offers light winter traction. This tire should not be used in severe winter conditions, as it is not winter-weather certified. Also, this is a touring tire, so it won't be able to withstand high speed driving pressure. Matching the driving speed to the tire's speed capabilities is of the utmost importance to ensure a secure driving experience.
