OVERVIEW
The Firestone Affinity A/S (OE) is a performance and high performance, all season tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs. This is an OE as it is the original equipment of select vehicles.
The asymmetric tread pattern enables the tire to closely follow the road surface at all times, which improves its steering responsiveness and driving stability. In other words, the tire is quicker and more precise in its response to the driver's commands, while the structure is secured against the driving pressure affecting the tire. The shoulder blocks provide additional biting edges in order to greatly boost its overall maneuvering and cornering. This combination ensures a safe driving experience.
Year-round traction and hydroplaning resistance are offered with this model. While the all season compound keeps the tire pliable in changing temperatures, the ideal tread design generates biting edges that firmly grip the road in dry, wet, and light winter conditions. Hydroplaning is avoided thanks to the groove pattern, which eliminates water and slush from cutting off the tire's road contact in wet conditions.
Uneven and premature wear are prevented with this model. The stronger rubber compound and the stable tread design help combat such wear patterns. In other words, the tread pattern's even pressure circulation resists irregular wear, while the rubber compound reduces the treadwear rate. These improvements significantly increase the tire's overall service life.
The Firestone Affinity A/S (OE)'s optimal tread design manages to negate the sound waves heard in the vehicle’s cabin while the tires are in motion. This pattern cancels the road and tread pattern noise heard by the passengers, preventing road disturbances from ruining the passengers’ driving enjoyment. The result is a quiet driving experience.
Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
