OVERVIEW
The Michelin Latitude Tour HP ZP is a performance, all season tire manufactured for SUVs.
The tire was manufactured as a run flat tire. It is capable of supporting the vehicle's weight for a limited time in the case of air pressure loss. In other words, the tire is able to be driven on for 50 miles up to 50 mph after a puncture or cut makes it lose air pressure. This prevents the driver from being stranded on the side of the road and allows them to safely arrive at a destination where they can change or repair the damaged tire. These tires are made for vehicles without space for spare tires. They cannot be mixed with regular radial tires as their construction is heavier.
The tire has great all weather traction and, thanks to the 2D Active Siping design, the tire performs well in wet and winter weather as well. The 2D Active Sipes provide additional biting edges to the tire in such conditions, permitting it to find good grip on snow and ice-covered road surfaces. The circumferential grooves actively avoid hydroplaning by eliminating water from beneath the tire footprint. A safer year round driving experience is guaranteed with these enhancements as it maintains constant road traction.
