OVERVIEW
The Hankook Ventus S1 Evo HRS is a high performance, summer tire manufactured for passenger vehicles.
The tire was designed and produced with Hankook's HRS run flat technology. This technology reinforced the internal construction for the tire to be able to handle the weight of the vehicle and its passengers in an aired down state. Then air pressure leaves the tire due to a puncture or other damage, the tire can be driven on for 50 miles up to the speed of 50 mph. This allows the driver to safety reach a near-by destination to fix or change the tire. These tires cannot be mixed with regular tires and they are usually made for vehicles without space for a spare tire.
The tire has superb summer traction and, thanks to its tread design and compound, it grips the road well in dry and wet weather. It is not recommended to be used in winter conditions, as the tire compound loses its traction in the colder winter temperatures and the tread design will not have good road grip in snow and on ice. The waved circumferential grooves increase the hydroplaning resistance and wet weather traction by eliminating water from below the tire footprint, further enhancing the tire's summer weather safety levels.
