OVERVIEW
The Bridgestone Potenza RE050 RFT is a high performance, summer tire manufactured for passenger vehicles.
The tire promotes excellent summer weather traction. The directional tread pattern with the lateral grooves and the summer weather LL Carbon compound work together to ensure the dry and wet weather grip on the road surface. The compound avoids heat build-up during the drive and makes the tire pliable under the summer heat. The tread's optimal elements improve the grip by offering additional biting edges to enhance the road gripping capability. The wide circumferential grooves prevent hydroplaning. They eliminate water and slush from below the tire's footprint and maintain the tire's optimal road contact to ensure a safer performing ability.
The model's tread design and internal structure upgrade its high speed controllability. The tread design keeps the tire's close road contact, which boosts the steering responsiveness and the driving stability. In this manner, the steering is faster and more precise in its responsiveness, while the structure is stabilized against the driving pressure affecting the model. The reinforced construction maintains the ideal tire shape under the high speed driving pressure. The spirally wrapped nylon on top of the steel belts and the O-Bead structure's single strand bead filler prevent the deformation of the tire's shape during the model's high speed performance. The Computer Optimized Component System, or CS-CS, technology optimizes the tire's tread compound, casing shape, tread pattern and internal construction to enable the model's safer high speed performing capability and power. This allows the tire to safely perform at its best high speed capability.
The tread design and the stronger tire compound increase the tread life length. The special LL Carbon compound evenly distributes the driving pressure along the tread area, with the molecular chain that the rubber elements create. This avoids irregular tread wear along the tread area, extending the tire's usability. The compound also manages to resist tread damage, such as tearing, cracking and chipping, by reinforcing the rubber with a long length carbon molecular structure. This also allows the tire to significantly slow down the tread wear rate. The combination of these enhancements extends the tire's tread life and usability significantly.
The Potenza RE050 RFT was manufactured with a reinforced construction. This strengthened structure upgrades the tire's performance and enables its limited temporary performance after air pressure loss. When air pressure leaves the tire, this construction allows the tire to withstand the weight of the vehicle and its passengers and to be driven on for 50 miles up to the speed of 50 mph. This prevents the driver from being stranded on the side of the road. Run flat tires are usually made for vehicles without space for a spare tire and they cannot be mixed with regular tires on the same vehicle, due to their heavier construction.
